Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine Holds Workshop of "New Progress on Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastroenteropathy by Combining Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine"

Between Dec. 9-11, the national continuing medical education project "New Progress on Diagnosis and Treatment of Gastroenteropathy by Combining Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine", "Progress on Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive System Disease by Combining Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine" and Annual Academic Meeting of Spleen and Stomach Disease Branch of Shanghai Medical Association 2011 jointly hosted by the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of our department, Affiliated Yueyang Hospital of Shanghai University of Chinese Traditional Medicine and Shanghai Association of Chinese Medicine was held. 

This workshop was lectured by more than 10 professors including Xie Jianqun, Shen Hong, Li Zhenhua, Wu Yunlin, Liu Wenzhong, Tang Zhipeng, Zhu Shengliang and Wang Songpo who are all domestic well-known experts in TCM or the combination of TCM and western medicine. It covers the primary content and spirit convey of national spleen and stomach diseases meeting in 2011, progress of research on the treatment of common and refractory gastroenteropathy by combining traditional Chinese and western medicine and its diagnosis and treatment experience. Chief Physician Wang Songpo, Director of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and, made a introduction of the unique clinical experience and drug use feature of diagnosing and treating hepatobiliary diseases by Professor Zhang Jingren who is the "TCM master". More than 130 students from the hospitals nationwide attended the meeting. The course schedule of the workshop is tight and has very novel and practical content, which fully manifests the latest achievement in diagnosis and treatment of gastroenteropathy by combining traditional and Chinese medicine. The meeting was recognized by the experts and students present. 

As an annual grand meeting in Shanghai spleen and stomach disease field, this workshop further shows the image of our Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, expands its academic influence and plays a key role in promoting the development of the TCM spleen and stomach disciplines of our hospital.
