Clinical Feature

Over half a century, the Department gradually has formed superior specialties for special disease such as treatment of spinal diseases (e.g. cervical spondylosis, protrusion of lumbar intervertebral disc), degenerative change (e.g. knee osteoarthritis), nerve system disease (e.g. peripheral facial paralysis, sequela of apoplexy), metabolic disease (e.g. simple adiposis) and refractory diseases of internal medicine (e.g. insomnia, irritable boewl syndrome) by acupuncture and moxibustion. The Department mainly carries out the clinical and basic research on treatment of painful disease, nerve system disease and immune disease by acupuncture and moxibustion. Application on acupuncture point is created by the veteran acupuncture experts through decades of clinical practice based on the traditional recipe. Being able to simultaneously cure the principal and subordinate symptoms, it enjoys high reputation in the field. Its application scope expands to retrogressive bone and joint diseases and gynecological endocrine diseases from the initial asthma and chronic bronchitis.
