Department of Pediatric Medicine

The Department of Pediatric Medicine was founded by Professor Chen Hong da and has rich experience in Pediatric Medicine. The pediatric department of southern branch is divided into division of general pediatrics and newborn medicine. Division of general pediatrics especially specializes in nephrology, respiratory and endocrinology disease. Nephrology specialists of general pediatrics division care for infants, children and adolescent with urinary tract abnormalities, proteinuria and hematuria, enuresis and nephritis. Respiratory specialists provide a full service to diagnose and treat severe pneumonia, asthma attack and other spectrum of breathing problems. Endocrinology specialists provide advanced care for children and adolescents with endocrine disorders like diabetes mellitus, obesity, growth hormone deficiency and sexual precocity.

Besides, it also provides full service to diagnosis and treat other infectious diseases and emergency care. Division of newborn medicine is focusing on premature infants care and full-term infants with a variety of medical illness like jaundice and infectious disease. The Department at Southern Branch has Outpatient, Emergency Department and wards. It has expert outpatient service from Monday to Saturday. The Department at the Northern Branch has Outpatient of Pediatric Medicine. The department at Southern Branch has 28 beds in general pediatrics division including 4 beds for emergency case and 20 beds in newborn medicine division including 8 incubators.

Department of Pediatric Surgery

The Department of Pediatric Surgery with a long history is an integral part of the early development process of our hospital. In 1994, Professor Ji Weixing led to reconstruct the Department of Pediatric Surgery. The Department has five permanent staffs including one re-employed after retirement. There are two persons with senior professional title, three persons with intermediate professional title and three masters. It has 10 open beds. The Deputy Administrative Director of the Department (in charge of daily work) is Yan Lei.

It primarily conducts pediatric surgery trauma and emergency based on the specialty development direction characterized by general pediatric surgery and diagnosis and treatment of pediatric urology. In recent years, the department had closely cooperations with the Department of General Surgery in performing minimally invasive pediatric abdominal operation.
