At 14:20 on Mar. 24, 1988, near Kuangxiang railway station of Hu-Hang outer ring, Train 311 collided with Train 208, which shocked the world, killing 28 people and injuring more than 100 people. We sent out medical rescue team immediately to the site of accident. The medical team comprised by our hospital specialists successfully saved 21 severely injured Japanese travelers and dozens of injured Chinese passengers, and was awarded as one of the “Ten Best Spiritual Civilized Events of 1988” in Shanghai.

At the beginning of 2003, the medical staff of our hospital carried forward the spirit of retrieving the dying and rescuing the wounded when the SARS suddenly broke out. We organized medical team to the SARS separation ward and was awarded Advance Anti-SARS Group of Shanghai Municipal Health System.

On May 12, 2008, a violent earthquake hit Wenchuan of Sichuan. We rapidly assigned an earthquake relief team to the frontline in four batches which treated and cured 3,000 persons by performing more than 40 operations of different kind. We were rated as the National Pioneer Worker for Home Rebuilding in Earthquake Relief.

In Apr. 2010, Tang Ruijie, a young employee of our hospital, donated hematopoietic stem cell for a patient with leukemia. This is the first volunteer who has a successful match in our hospital.

From 1988 to now, all party members of the Party Branch of the outpatient and emergency departments have been providing free physical examination for the childless and impoverished aged of the community for 25 years in succession, which wins praise from the society. We were rated "Top Ten Good Deed of Spiritual Civilization" of Shanghai Municipal Health System.
