He made systematic research and put forward the new theory of "the impact of intestinal barrier dysfunction on causing severe acute pancreatitis", which was widely promoted and applied nationwide. He was responsible for drafting some important academic guidances including Guidance for Diagnosis and Treatment of Acute Pancreatitis, Specification for Diagnosis and Treatment of Severe Acute Pancreatitis in Internal Medicine, Guidance for Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Pancreatitis and Advices on Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment of Intestinal Barrier Dysfunction, which plays an active role in facilitating the diagnosis and treatment specification of relevant disease across the nation.
