Recently, the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission, the General Office of the National Health Commission, and the Comprehensive Department of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly issued a notice on the fifth batch of national regional medical center lists. Shanghai General Hospital Bengbu Hospital and Shanghai General Hospital Jiuquan Hospital were approved for the fifth batch of national regional medical center projects.

Shanghai General Hospital Bengbu Hospital (hereinafter referred to as Bengbu Hospital), built by Shanghai General Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College, is the first comprehensive national regional medical center in Anhui Province jointly built by the People's Government of Anhui Province, Bengbu Municipal People's Government, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and Bengbu Medical College. Shanghai General Hospital has sent more than 200 experts to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College to carry out work. The experts have received 4000 outpatients and completed 112 surgeries.

Bengbu Hospital will implement the Phase II upgrade project and build a new clinical medical research center in accordance with the requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission for "incremental upgrading". During this period, Shanghai General Hospital will improve the discipline system of ophthalmology, urology, orthopaedics, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology (reproductive medicine) and other related sub specialties of Bengbu Hospital by promoting the "three translation" of management, technology and brand, rapidly improve the overall diagnosis and treatment level and the ability to deal with difficult, critical and complex diseases, build a high-level clinical diagnosis and treatment center, high-level talent training base, high-level scientific research innovation and achievement translational platform to create a first-class comprehensive national regional medical center in China.

Bengbu Hospital will take the construction of a comprehensive national regional medical center as an opportunity to establish a new pattern of health services through the construction of the "Inner Ring (Tight Medical Union) - Central Ring (Anhui North Medical Union) - Outer Ring (Yangtze River Delta Medical Union)", fully leverage the strategic functions of resource integration and value amplification of the national regional medical center, and establish a "comprehensive ecological graded diagnosis and treatment" that connects Shanghai and Anhui, radiating to Anhui North, Enable the people of northern Anhui and even the wider region to enjoy the country's top quality medical resources nearby.

Shanghai General Hospital Jiuquan Hospital (hereinafter referred to as Jiuquan Hospital), built by Shanghai General Hospital and Jiuquan People's Hospital, is a major livelihood project in Jiuquan City. Shanghai General Hospital has successively dispatched 108 experts in management, clinical, pharmacy, nursing, ultrasound, imaging and other disciplines to Jiuquan People's Hospital to carry out work. The experts dispatched have received 4500 outpatient patients, 580 business rounds, 320 operations, 180 difficult and critical consultations and discussions, and carried out 34 new technologies, of which 23 technologies have filled the gap in the medical technology field in Hexi area of Gansu Province.

Jiuquan Hospital will basically realize the homogeneous development of diagnosis and treatment technology, service ability and medical quality with Shanghai General Hospital under the general development strategy of "shaking the head, strengthening the body and expanding both wings" and the discipline development idea of "strengthening the peak disciplines, making the peak disciplines bigger and supplementing the scarce disciplines", while creating a trans-provincial "Internet plus medical health" cooperation platform to reduce trans provincial and trans regional medical treatment. Finally, it will build a comprehensive national regional medical center in the "3+X" mode, and then become a high-level modern regional medical center based in Gansu, serving the northwest, and first-class in China, making greater contributions to ensuring the service of the national Grand strategy and promoting the healthy China strategy.
