Professor Hongxia Wang has been dedicated to the individualized treatment of recurrent metastatic breast cancer patients for a long time. Through systematic clinical translational research, she has developed new treatment strategies based on original discoveries. She has discovered and proposed new strategies for the treatment of recurrent metastatic breast cancer: revealed new targets that lead to drug-resistant recurrence, independently developed targeted therapeutic antibodies and efficient antibody drug delivery system; established a new model for dynamic assessment of recurrent metastasis In order to promote early diagnosis and treatment of recurrent metastasis, she conducted screening of genetic susceptibility genes in 30,000 cases of breast cancer, solving the problem of unclear BRCA mutation loci in Chinese patients and improving the accuracy of clinical testing. The team has also taken the lead in formulating expert consensus to promote clinical precision diagnosis and treatment. On this basis, the team has carried out the whole life cycle management of precise molecular diagnosis, dynamic assessment of recurrence and metastasis, and clinical trials of new anti-tumor drugs, and carried out new minimally invasive treatment technologies such as radiofrequency ablation (2005) and "Nano-knife" (2015) at an early stage in China.

She has published more than 40 SCI papers in mainstream journals such as Cell Res, Cancer Discov, Nat Commun, Sci Adv, PNAS, applied for 11 national patents, 1 international PCT patent, authored 6 monographs, led many multi-center clinical trials. She led and participated in the development of 7 guidelines and consensus. In order to promote multicenter collaboration and translational research in breast cancer clinical diagnosis and treatment, Professor Hongxia Wang led the establishment of the Special Committee on Tumor Heterogeneity and Individualized Treatment of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, and established the collaborative diagnosis and treatment platform for refractory breast cancer as the chairman of the Oncology Specialty Alliance of Yangtze River Delta, which radiates to six provinces and one city in East China. The team led by her has been selected as the national clinical key specialty of tumor, the national demonstration center of comprehensive breast tumor treatment (the first batch), the "core strategic team" and "collaborative research innovation team" of Shanghai high-level local universities.

Professor Hongxia Wang has been awarded the National Outstanding Youth Fund, Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader, Shanghai 38th Red Banner, China Young Scientist Award for Oncology, Shanghai Medical Tree Award (first prize), Shanghai Pujiang Talent, Shanghai Young Post Leader, Shanghai Pharmaceutical "Apricot Grove Talent Award", 100 Talent Plan of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, "New 100 Talent Plan of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine "Research Physician" Plan.
